USEFUL LINKS TO WORK OPPORTUNITIES

Many sites listed on the links to information sources page also give information on consultancy and other work opportunities in the entity concerned and, sometimes, more generally. These sites are not repeated here.  The sites listed on this page are specifically concerned with matching those seeking work with those who can provide it.  Most of these sites are free but some are pay sites. They have been identified by surfing the net and ICEA cannot vouch for them.

The ICEA is often informed of specific work opportunities by consultancy firms and other employers seeking economists for short-term or longer-term assignments.   As a service to its members, these opportunities are notified by e-mail whenever a new opportunity is notified, and are subsequently listed on the “Members Only” site.  They are not given here.

From time-to-time the ICEA undertakes activities designed to support its members in their work.  Such an activity was preparation in 1993 of “Guidelines for the Terms of Appointment For Economic Consultants”. These guidelines are available from the secretary secretariat@icea.co.uk and may be updated in due course.  A note prepared by Caroline Doggart (ICEA committee member) describes how it is possible to recover overdue fee payments via the Internet.  The paper is entitled: “A Painless Way to the Recovery of Overdue Fee Payments” and can be downloaded here. We will prepare other guidance as may be requested by the Association's members.
